Australian Satellite of the Cochrane EPOC Group

Contributing to health service research, implementation and effective health policy-making

The Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Satellite in Australia was established to assist evidence-based policy-making by supporting, promoting and helping to implement Cochrane systematic reviews of interventions designed to improve health care practice and the delivery of effective health services. Funded by the Australian Government, it is a partnership between the Cochrane EPOC Group and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the satellite is located in the NHMRC's National Institute of Clinical Studies (see MJA Editorial).

Cochrane systematic reviews to improve health care delivery and health care systems

The Cochrane EPOC Group is one of 50 Collaborative Review Groups that form part of The Cochrane Collaboration an international network of individuals who prepare, maintain and promote the accessibility of systematic reviews of healthcare interventions for publication in The Cochrane Library. The scope of the Cochrane EPOC Group is to undertake systematic reviews of educational, behavioural, financial, organisational and regulatory interventions.
